Encryption

Encryption provides protection for digital data, making it unreadable by others.

Encryption is a method that converts a dataset into an unreadable format, so that only specific, authorized entities can recover its content.

The content is confidential and usually addressed to a specific recipient or a specific group of recipients.

Encryption is performed with a digital certificate that is issued for this particular purpose. Byte offers encryption certificates, as well as a repository for publishing public keys, so that the sender can make use of the recipient’s certificate and encrypt the data with the recipient’s public key. Then, the recipient can use an exclusive private key, in order to recover the primary data by decrypting the received message.
